Got Style? You might, if you use them in Word.

Reminiscing about my first law firm training interview (going back almost 10 years ag0), I was asked by the CIO, “So, how well you do know Word?” Being only 2 years out of college at the time and of course confidently knowing everything, I responded by saying, “I’m an expert, I’m a 10!”

That being my first law firm (a large international firm I might add), I was quickly informed that MS Word in the legal environment was used completely different than in a collegiate or corporate setting. Ten years later and a bit more seasoned, I can now look back on that interview and laugh, because BOY IT IS EVER DIFFERENT!

Did you ever hear the phrase, you don’t know, what you DON’T know? Listen up my Summer, Fall and First Year Associates…get your writing and your formatting under control now. You’ll have more time to spend drumming up business and referrals later if you can get this under your belt!

Too busy to file emails or properly format Word documents, but not so busy she could make PowerPoints of kitty cats! She was forever known busy Betty. So does busy mean productive? Absolutely not.
